About Lisa

Lisa grew up in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, near the Lunenburg Yacht Club where she learned how to sail. She started racing in Laser Radials when she was 15.

In 2000, Lisa graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Marine Biology.

Upon finishing her university career, Lisa moved to Toronto where, while working in project management for an online marketing company, she started sailing Ynglings with Deirdre Crampton and Chantal Leger. The trio eventually realized their team goal in 2004 when they represented Canada at the Olympic Games in Athens.

After the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Lisa moved back to Halifax, Nova Scotia and started working with developing sailors as the Nova Scotia Sailing Team’s head coach and then the High Performance Director. In 2005, she also started competing and training in the Laser Radial, the class that she had previously been Canadian Champion and in which she represented Canada at both the Pan American Games and the Youth World Championships. From her home base in Nova Scotia, Lisa trained and competed world wide to ultimately represent Canada at the Olympic Games in Beijing where she finished 17th.

Lisa is currently sailing and training full time, working towards the goal of representing Canada at the 2012 Olympic Games
